"what matters is GDP per capita" is just an arithmetic fallacy. A per capita measure falls whenever you recruit someone producing below the average. If a small business hires someone to clean the floors, the average salary will fall, but no individual earns less money.

First, obviously: "Ahhhhhh!!!!"

Second, what's interesting to me about this is that they haven't responded tactically with targeted tariffs on carefully selected goods that hurt Trump politically but spare Chinese consumers and businesses pain.

They went flamethrower and just mirrored the 34%.
Breaking: China will impose a 34% tariff on all imported American goods in addition to existing tariffs from April 10

This in response to Trump's reciprocal tariffs
