This time, the big change was a manuscript assessment - my assessor called my draft a "writer's draft" and I'm since overhauling the WIP as a reader

Editing can help with a polished even if you're trad pubbing, for self pubbing on a budget you'll have to do the line/copy editing

Also, don't rush

I ran into a writer afraid of their work being "over-edited"

Having been through the process once I feel my first pubbed book wasn't edited enough, so will be going more developmental this time, but having found my voice things will be different

Also correcting my other mistake and getting betas

Nothing more painful to read than a self-published book or a book where the publisher doesn’t spring for a seasoned editor and a rigorous editing process. Editors ✍️ are essential.
