My experience of university management using the Kübler-Ross change curve to help staff cope with a university restructure is not unique. Sadly.
in tomorrow's philosophy of psychiatry reading group, we'll be pulling apart the university guidance on coping with change. as you may know, mass redundancies are planned at Lancaster University. hence, management have published guidance on coping with change based on the Kübler-Ross model ... A must read for those of you interested in the history of this thing we call “leadership”.
And yes, other theories are not exactly how we were told. For example, Bridgman has a great paper on "transformational leadership" highlighting the original democratic values of this leadership style as proposed by Burns.
