Casual reminder that the myth of “pulling yourself up by your bootstraps” is a cruel hoax designed to convince poor people from all walks of life that the injustices they face are a result of their own actions, rather than an oppressive system rigged against them.

Republicans found their souls for a brief moment, is what happened during Nixon. We keep calling them MAGA, but this regime is just straight up Republican ideology on a fast track. It’s heartless, cruel, and only concerned with money and control over people’s lives.

What every member of my new political party should shout every single day:

Donald Trump inherited the strongest post-Covid economy in the entire industrialized world, and he has singlehandedly fucked it up. Trump has singlehandedly fucked up our economy.

Say it out loud Dems.

Incredible footage out of Australia, confirmed by NEWS AU, of a brave bystander neutralizing one of the terrorists in the Bondi Beach attack which took place during a Hanukkah gathering.

Australian authorities say multiple people have been killed.

At least two suspects are in custody.

This…
We spend twice as much per capita on health care as almost any nation on Earth. We pay the highest prescription drug prices in the world. 85 million Americans are uninsured or underinsured.

Republicans — pathetically — have nothing serious to say about the health care crisis.

Turns out MAGA is just a sloppy rebrand for Republicans. Like they always do, it’s all talk about states rights until the states don’t do what they want. Typical Republican hypocrisy. www.nytimes.com/2025/12/11/t...

And yet we have an unfathomable army of people who work to defend the ultra-wealthy believing that one day they will be one of them…
Wealth inequality is eating this country alive. Concentrated wealth is already endangering our democracy. Wealth doesn’t just beget more wealth — it begets more power.

It’s a vicious cycle that destroys our economy and democracy at the same time.

The anti-science agenda of vaccine skeptics has so many guardrails against information, of course they all believe they are correct. They refuse data that doesn’t uphold their radical agenda.

Not a surprise. We’ve allowed capitalism to run roughshod over each of us while simultaneously believing we should protect the ultra rich at all costs.
96% of the highest-paid workers in the US have paid sick days.

Just 38% of the lowest-paid workers get them — including the thousands of retail workers working this holiday weekend.

Only in America do we call working people ‘essential’ but deny them paid sick leave.

Can confirm.
I feel like one of the most underrated explanations for what's happening right now in global politics is that almost everyone has lost their minds.

This is another prime example of the Republican Parties obsession with wealthy elites. They cos-play as populists, when in reality they only truly believe in serving rich people’s interests. Today is a good day to remember, and to say, that the #MeToo movement was right, and was righteous, and has been vindicated over and over again. There was no overreach. There was no excess. There was no they-went-too-far.

So much work remains to be done.
