Team Cherry, probably: Hey, you know the delicate flower?

You mean the most reviled side quest in Hollow Knight? Sure, what about it?

What if that... But with a tight time limit?

........................BRILLIANT!

Meta's web browser now uses depth sensing for WebXR Hit Testing on Quest 3 & 3S, enabling instant mixed reality object placement without a Scene Mesh.

Wait till you meet Sherma once you get to Silksong! The entire internet was immediately in "I will die to protect this little bug" mode based entirely on his first voice line.

I have misplaced my Windows Mixed Reality headset and I am unreasonably annoyed about it.

I feel like "nobody that you can yell at is a decision maker" is the cause of many of the frustrations of the modern world.

18) Nobody that you can yell at is a decision maker.

I work for a company that is owned by a company that contracts with a company that contracts with the City.

If you even want to talk to my manager, one level above me, it will be thirty minutes, she's a half mile away and underground.

Strangely I thought the same thing but with opposite outcomes. In Hollow Knight (And Silksong) I feel very comfortable with the movement mechanics, so fights feel like learning a dance and outmaneuvering the enemy. In Nine Sols I feel like all I do is fail a hundred tiny quick time events.

This was a great thread to read this morning before heading to the airport:

Some things I've learned in my first few weeks:

1) There is a grey market candy swapping racket between janitors, TSA agents, CSRs, and everyone else who has to stand someplace all day at the airport.

Hi-chews, sour candies, and gummy anything are in highest demand.

I have a problem. I've been moving my office space at home, and I moved a box labeled "Cables", which was full of cables. Then a box labeled "Adapters" which... Was full of cables. Then a box labeled "Accessories", which was full of cables. Then 3-4 unlabeled boxes which were also full of cables. 😥

Citadel bugs: "Oh, hey! Red spider lady is back! Ready for another 20 beat downs? Where have you been anyway?"

Hornet: "Sidequests." *proceeds to vomit poisoned cog beetles and buzzsaws everywhere*

Anyway, I finally beat the High Halls gauntlet.

Why did boss music just start playing?!?

Comic contains graphic depictions of skin melting off of a person's body while they are on fire. And a couple of abstract phalluses.

Bluesky: "Woah! Hold up! This contains *non-sexual nudity*! Are you SURE you want to see it?"

Tried my hand at IRL shading. Happy with the RGB output, but unfortunately my fill rate is abysmal.

It's truly insane that it's legal to go "I'm going to spend $50 billion dollars to buy this company. Do I have $50 billion dollars? No, the company I'm buying is going to take out a big loan"

It’s official: EA is going private.

The leveraged buyout will be financed by a staggering $20 billion of debt, which likely means some *aggressive* cost cutting is ahead for EA in the coming months and years.

Got an email from a company saying that in keeping with their "continuing commitment to security" they were going to soon require users with "low strength passwords" to select new ones, and uh... I now feel WAY WORSE about your commitment to security than I did before I read the email.

Scariest wildlife encounter I've ever had was walking to a lake while camping and having a moose casually stroll of of the bushes directly in front of me.

It did not care about me in the slightest and just kept walking. I stayed frozen in place thinking that it could end me with a sneeze.

Assembled a drum kit for the first time today. So. Many. Wingnuts! Mad respect to people who do this regularly. 🥁

My WebXR work puts me in the "VR platform people" bucket, and sadly it's true. I have spend SO MUCH MORE time peeking into a headset for 10 seconds and wiggling my head back and forth than actually *using* a headset, because at the level I've been working that's where all the bugs surface. 😭

One of the problems with VR is that no one involved uses VR like customers.

- Influencers focus on VR that makes good video.
- Press use VR like very specific dorks that aren't the audience.
- VR devs just play their own game.
- VR platform people basically don't use it at all.

The Cogwork Dancers in Silksong are a masterclass in how to do a compelling, fun, challenging-but-fair boss fight that has narrative weight without a single line of dialog. Also the music slaps.

Sketchfab still hurts to this day, because they took a fantastic resource for web devs where every single asset that you could download was in a web-ready format (glTF) and turned it into "Fab" which is way harder to search, is full of UE-only assets, and doesn't present them nearly as nicely. 😭

imagine if a family of beavers randomly showed up right now and finished whatever thing you've been putting off
In early 2025, beaver activity in the Brdy Protected Landscape Area, Czech Republic, contributed to the restoration of a wetland ecosystem. A family of beavers constructed a series of dams that coincidentally accomplished environmental goals of the Czech government, which had delayed its proposed project since 2018 for bureaucratic and financial reasons. The beaver-built dams saved the Czech government approximately US$1.2 million,
