I don't design trophies. I'm just over here critiquing them. Getting the balance of "recognized as a trophy" and some degree of uniqueness isn't an easy task.

If the design looks like an upright vacuum, try again.

Let's promote your friends and family who've done the difficult work of publishing books.
I just realized my (Seattle-based nonprofit) publisher has a sale on. I'm proud of the 2nd edition here--new science, new chapters on leafcutter bees and assorted solitary bee pests, and a bazillion new color photos. Lots of titles for outdoors topics of all kinds if pollinators aren't your jam.
Mason Bee Revolution, 2nd Edition: How the Hardest Working Bee Can Save the World One Backyard at a Time
Easily attract wild solitary bees to your yard--and help save the planet!

Portland frogs follow the grand tradition of mocking fascists.

In Finland, years ago, it was LoLdiers of Odin clowns wanting to play with the Soldiers of Odin, who they perceived as fellow clowns.

The way to be a normal dude re: trans folks is to be supportive of them personally and militantly protective of their rights in politics.

If 'real men' are 'protectors,' fucking protect this
To my fellow cishet dudes: when we are quiet about supporting the trans community, the only voices anyone hears are the Charlie Kirks of the world. Don't let accusations of being "performative" or "virtue signaling" shut you up - that's their whole point. Our voices are needed now more than ever.

At the Seattle #nokings march, I was given a sticker and homemade trinkets (i.e. New Orleans Mardi Gras "throws"). So cool! I want to give handmade throws during future protest marches!

If Kamala had won...

Seattle's #nokings march had tens of thousands.
Good turnout across the country.

Loved this article about the Washington State cremation capacity problem:

I gave blood today.

And realized I'm about two years away from donating 100 units in my lifetime. I'll get a leaf on the Tree of Life display.

Yesterday I forgot to give thanks to the birth of Bartolomeo Cristofori, inventor of the piano. Huzzah to Bart for saving us from the plinky-plink terribleness of the harpsichord!

My friends created an immersive theater/escape room mashup in Seattle. I playtested it last week. Last night I saw the finished show. It's a good time with some theater, exploring, and light puzzling.
It runs this weekend and the next two, then disappears forever.

@manningkrull.bsky.social Loved the Halloween prop blog entries. BTW I get a lot of joy from cordless hot gluing. This is my solution. It doesn't warm up any quicker than plug-in types unfortunately.

I love when orgs share how they solved a particular problem. Sharing is good! Making unimportant details into secrets is bad.
