That very same comic also shows off the G-Commander doing an armor purge. I can alway appreciate a good armor purge.

A variation called the MF-92S G-Commander also appears in the story "Another War in UC0044", where it has a visor instead of eyes and can deploy two drone MS called BGR (Bodyguard Radiobeam).

Something about the setting of Abashiri 10 feels temporally ambiguous. The opening places it "immediately after defeat" which implies 1945, which I think maybe makes it a prequel to the original? And it more or less looks and acts like a snowy western. Equal parts Great Silence and Golden Kamuy.

Just watched the 10th Abashiri Prison movie and Noboru Ando is in this thing looking and acting like a Japanese James Coburn

Coming in late this time, mostly time loops this week

He's had white eyes since Char's Counterattack.

I'm seeing people saying it looks like he hasn't aged, and while that's true in the character model on the site it's not really the case in the screenshot. It is mostly just lines on his face but he does look older and puffier. If anything he looks older than he does with a mustache.
January 24, 2026 at 4:48 PM
I wake up to the revelation that Bright is going sans mustache in Hathaway 2, thinking we at least got a new trailer or something. I look and find it's just something the official Twitter account posted. A double whammy of disappointment. gundam-official.com/hathaway/cha...

Look who's hanging with the other boys now

Really like the proportions on the Origin Gundam. Not too slender, not too bulky.

Frankly there's also an argument for TNG Patlabor being ambiguous too, since despite the fact it's placed into OVA/movie continuity there are at least two episodes that seem to directly reference TV episodes. In addition to Ivan Ivanovich Ivanovsky, there's also the albino raptors(!?) in the sewers

It occurs to me that, according to this chart, since WXIII exists in multiple Patlabor continuities (maybe as many as 3 if you include the manga story it's adapted from) it is quantitatively the single most canon entry in the Patlabor franchise

Guess that just means I have to watch his Blackjack movie that came out the same year as House, oh poor me

It more or less reminds me of the Kikaider 02 version of Hakaider.

Kind of an odd format. I wonder if it was always going to be this way. Like, was it at one point intended for TV? Is still having them in episode format a way of making them TV-friendly down the road? At least this means we get it all over the next 1.5 years. www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2026-01...

Some renderings of Ingram Plus units 1 & 2. Can't help but notice that unit 2's head design brings the Patlabor 2 visor into the TV continuity. Still don't love those boxy shoulders but I like the tweaks to the head fins.

The only characters up on the site so far are Unit 1's forward and backup.

Patlabor EZY official site is up! ezy.patlabor.tokyo
January 20, 2026 at 3:49 AM
The continuity map on the official Patlabor site puts Reboot in a standalone category, despite the fact that Reboot seemed to allude to the previous SV2 team. I wonder if its placement on this graphic will change, or if EZY is just bringing its characters into TV continuity.
January 20, 2026 at 3:40 AM
Weird thing of course is the format — it was confirmed in December that EZY would be 8 episodes long. These release dates are kind of wild though. One in May, one in August, and the third in March of next year?
January 20, 2026 at 3:31 AM
Also – is this character on the right the commander from Patlabor Reboot!? It looks and sounds like her to me. Are they rolling Reboot into the TV continuity!?

Sorry, Happy Death Day's time loop is ALSO on the 18th? Is there something these are all referencing that I'm missing? This is a wild coincidence that the last three time loop things I've engaged with all loop on the same day of the month

Shoutout to Tagging Xhosa's version from Urdr Hunt. Bad movie and a mediocre mobile game but this thing was rad.

I am browsing the NY Times archives and can't get over this treatment for Martial Law
