Glory of Losers feels like most of that is stripped away in service of getting to the next battle quicker. The actual stakes are so much more vague than I remember in the show

The annoying thing about finally reading Glory of the Losers is I finally get to see the Tallgeese Flugel do its thing and now I want a kit of it. The wings suit the Tallgeese so much better; making it the origin of the EW Wing Zero's wings is honestly a pretty good way to establish them.

Gundam Wing is ultimately just a melodramatic fairytale with very little of substance to say. That can be a lot of fun but it's wild how it manages to sustain itself on so little

It's still so funny that the main thing that compels people to fight and struggle in Gundam Wing is just about the idea of fighting itself. Not even necessarily for or against something, any cause may as well be arbitrary beyond "Fighting good! Fighting bad!"
