ご苦労さん, everybody! Giant Robots at Work is officially in the bag. We had a good time kicking off the panel programming at Otakon's first ever Mecha Kaikan. Let us know if you stopped by and what you thought!

It seems like in general the G Gundam ones came with some nice extras.

The vibes are so strong in the last 20-30 minutes of the girl dancing through the cemetery, I'm tempted to just clip that chunk and just have it on out of context in the background

Luckily for my Halloween party guests I am re-screening the movies I was thinking of showing. Iron Rose rules and has tons of atmosphere, but on revisit it doesn't exactly lend itself well to a party setting

I can be self-indulgent but I have to have some sense

For context, Bandai has these Sunrise World pop-up shops, which are basically representing all their non-Gundam legacy properties

When I was in Japan last January, I made itself a mission to find a Char sleep mask. Even a Full Frontal one. The only ones I found were for Prospera, and this one from Dendoh of all things

Feels like they had a rule that any normal episode script had to have Vega doing at least one very dynamic thing.
Vega eavesdrops.

Are people still inexplicably seeing these around NYC? Is there like a pile of these in a warehouse somewhere? How do I get one? The thought still routinely pops into my head "Ghosts don't make plans" and it would be really funny if I somehow got one

Do we have anybody out here referencing Goosebumps the way horror directors were referencing EC Comics in the 80s? Or is that not a fair comparison?

I was a guest at this convention. I thought it was a wonderful time, but it was created to serve a questionable need (the Somerset con center was panicking with the absence of animeNEXT) and attendance was sadly quite low. Que sera sera.

Apparently the last time I used Groupon was nearly a decade ago, and it was for Anime Fan Fest, the one-time con thrown by Otaku USA in AnimeNEXT's pre-AC location. $35 for the weekend is crazy. Afaik this con was a bomb, but basically everybody I knew from Anitwitter at the time showed up for it.
