Cloud/Ops, likes to fix stuff, occasionally plays games, follows too many and not enough artists
Picked up a Logitech StreamCam for ~€90 a few years back.
Video is great, but wife had issues when trying to use on her Windows laptop (didn't register every time we plugged it in, but when it did it worked fine for days) YMMV

Sounds like an amazing period, hope it was fun to do!

You mean time off where you _don't_ need to go anywhere (like a vacation) or see anyone (like a family gathering) or do anything you don't want to?

I'm sure there is a German word for what you are looking for 🤔
Maybe a "me day" or a "mental health day" (depending on the reason you need time off)?

This is how my Nomad died: at the hands of an electrician that didn't want to buy batteries 😩
(wasn't me)

Woah 🤯 Looks like the battery blew up?
Hope everyone and everything are ok.

Oh, the disk looks a bit crispy, hope you have backups elsewhere 😬

Same, I've only seen them in other people's repair logs 😅

Nice restore!

Aren't those boxed caps the same ones you find in a Game Gear?

It's covered by the CPU heatsink but it doesn't make contact as there is no bump for it like for the other chips (circled where the bump should be). A thicker thermal tape would probably fix the contact issue.
The RAM (4 top) and eMMC (right) chips lack thermal tape, but I doubt they get overly hot.

Looked up that chip and it's:
RT5074A - Power Management Units for INTEL APL Platform

Chance this one overheated and bit the dust? 🤔 It's still pushing 3.3V to the power button but it didn't heat up past room temp AT ALL when attempting to power on.

Yeah, hopefully someone chimes in with an idea.

Interestingly there are 2 more spots for RAM chips, so this should be upgradeable to 16GB (with some skill).
Also the small chip with the thermal tape doesn't touch the heatsink at all 🥴

+1 for Mechanic tweezers.
Have the Aax-17 (chip soldering) straight edge model.

Struggling to explain to my kid's neuroscience focused school how bad AI is for a whole slew of things, but mostly neurodevelopment.

So far it's not gone well 😵

Some people are just horrible 😬

Glad you got it fixed up and working in the end 👍
