I had to screw and unscrew 72 screws and then take out and put in 90 1/4" jack nuts. would've taken me a couple of hours without the drill, instead it only took me like, what, an hour?

so yeah turns out it wasn't just spitting out gamma rays directionally at the wall, it was actually radiating everywhere

i go behind a corner and hold out a geiger counter in the line of sight of the device and yep it's spitting out 2 sieverts per minute lol

I set up the machine in a public swimming pool and pointed it at the wall. I dicked around with it for a while but then went to go do something else. by the time I come back people are swimming in the pool and the pool attendant is just pushing the buttons on the device randomly

it looked like a large vacuum tube with copper wires inside of it. some of the copper wires were coming through the glass. when you powered it on you could literally see corona discharge from the wires. if you lit it with UV light it'd glow a brilliant green

this has actually caused some confusion in finnish radio amateur circles. some say it's shortened to "schuko" while others say it's "suko". both are correct! just in different languages

fun fact the german and finnish words are it quite similar; in finnish it's "suojakosketin"

the receptacle that the plug goes into is called a suojakosketinpistorasia, the plug itself is called a suojakosketinpistotulppa, and when combined they make a suojakosketinpistokytkin
