That decision was purely political. It was not medical at all, despite how they tried to dress it up.

It's funny how no one thinks it's strange when you talk to pets as if they're people though. You can chat away to a cat or a dog and it's totally normal, but talk to a baby - an actual human whose brain is primed for language development - and everyone thinks you've lost your mind.
