Hastings 'Pug' Ismay spent the whole of the First World War, and longer, in Somaliland - there's a lot of detail in John Kiszely's fine biography of him.

I support the decision by the IWM not to renew the 15-yr loan of the Ashcroft Victoria Cross collection. The taxpayer has indemnified & funded the costs of security & exhibition of his investment in a prestigious national museum, increasing its value & probably recouping his £5 million. 1/
