Yeah, I think Watts sometimes doesn't make it clear that he's describing a technological thing evocatively, instead of literally. I was a bit confused when he described Big Ben as a subatomic particle the size of a planet, or something and thought that was literally what it was, my first readthrough

I mean, if you think of him as the guy who laid the groundwork for Gamergate by riling Gamers up to think of any kind of criticism as a personal attack, which then became the basis for a wide range of populist rightwing movements, he might basically be to blame for like, everything.
