This will be an improved version of the gigantic list of album recommendations that I eventually forgot about. I'm going to add a song recommendation for each album and a brief opinion. Feel free to suggest some :).

Life decided to throw about 10 haymakers in a row. Just pretend I'm gushing over The Dukes of Stratosphear album for #ArtistFaveLP and the various great 1973 albums by the likes of Pink Floyd, Gentle Giant, Donny Hathaway, Sun Ra, Magma, David Bowie, Marvin Gaye, etc for #20SongsByYear

Nicki Minaj: "We're not allowed to have a different opinion anymore. We're not allowed to think out loud anymore. This is not what the world used to feel like."
(She says, while expressing a different opinion out loud in front of a ton of cultists who all have the same opinion.)

The XTC #ArtistFave15 was a blast. I hold so much love for their music. I cant help but imagine a world where circumstances were better with Andy to the point where they could've returned to touring. They were deceptively fantastic as a live act.

15: Maybe a hot take for a top spot, but I adore this song. The opening almost sounds like a long-lost Genesis song. The Beach Boys-esque harmonies, that gorgeous chorus. It's like a giant, warm, comforting hug of a track.

12: Some may go with Tommy or Who's Next, but for me, Quadrophenia is the peak of The Who's studio catalog. It sucks that the tour was plagued with issues. I would kill for a live album of prime Who playing it front to back, Live at Leeds Style.

The song is beautiful and one of the more stripped-down tracks on the album. Even sweeter is the story of George writing it for the devoted fans, dubbed Apple Scruffs outside the studio. Even inviting them into the studio to listen.

I still like The Big Express, but I think this is where the band jumps the shark production-wise. It's definitely the odd one out in the main run of albums by the band.

10: I've seen the comment that XTC is god's apology for breaking up The Beatles. It's funny, but in reality, how many other bands have a run like this with that perfect mix of experimentation & catchiness? This song is a masterpiece. Legends.
