Lovely.
The two stood still, staring off across the lake.

They never said a word.

Silence without the awkwardness.

Enjoying each other's company.

Not to mention I will remember those people and organizations that capitulated.
"The pattern is also a lesson. News organizations that have stood up for themselves and pushed back against the attempts at intimidation prevailed.

"The only way to lose a fight against Trump is to pursue appeasement.

As a New Yorker I am so sadly used to seeing that name on buildings and other things:I expect to see it on tampons.
Living for the day when that vile gargoyle's name is crowbarred off the building.

Those who own the media and are apologists for the oligarchs and autocrats should be ignored by the population. Find a podcast, try progressive news and learn the truth.
Media lying is now utterly commonplace.

It’s just about impossible to come up with an appropriately fitting name for this creature of evil and misanthropy and using the White House as a base for his grift.
"As for the amount of money the program is expected to generate, the administration hasn’t offered details, but the president told reporters that, by his estimation, the program could generate '$50 trillion'..."

160 years ago, the 13th Amendment was ratified, ending slavery. But that amendment came with a sinister loophole: a Slavery Clause that allowed for slavery “as punishment for crime.”

We need to pass @repnikema.bsky.social’s and my Abolition Amendment to #EndTheException once and for all!

This is one of the worst catastrophes of this corrupt U.S. Administration. Nothing was learned from Vietnam, from Hong Kong, from Georgia, from Iraq, from Palestine.
Zelenskyy has posted a deeply difficult, ten‑minute national address. It is honestly heartbreaking to watch. I’m sure translations are already circulating and you’ll find it online, but the first point you need to hear is this:

"Right now is one of the most difficult moments in our history. ,

How craven leaders have become.
To the Coast Guard leadership signing off on this: You are trading your honor for political favor. By bowing to an administration that flirts with neo-Nazis, you are destroying the integrity of the service. If you can't define a swastika as hate, you aren’t fit to command. Period.
U.S. Coast Guard will no longer classify swastikas, nooses as hate symbols
The military service, which falls under the Department of Homeland Security, has drafted a new policy that classifies such items “potentially divisive.”

If you receive an illegal order, you have a duty to disobey.

This isn’t controversial.

A President calling for the execution of anyone who reminds service members of this oath is showing us why the duty to disobey illegal orders is so important in the first place.

House votes to denounce ‘horrors’ of socialism ahead of Mamdani-Trump meeting
House votes to denounce ‘horrors’ of socialism ahead of Mamdani-Trump meeting
The House voted 285-98 to approve a resolution condemning the “horrors of socialism” Friday morning, just hours before President Donald Trump is set to meet with New York’s incoming democratic socialist mayor Zohran Mamdani. Eighty-six Democrats joined with Republicans to approve the measure. Two others voted present. No Republican voted to oppose it. Speaker Mike Johnson and House GOP leaders have decried Mamdani’s election as the next mayor of the country’s largest city, citing his left-wing politics and arguing he is the new, radical face of the Democratic Party. They’ve vowed to make him a centerpiece of their attacks against Democrats ahead of the 2026 midterm elections. Democrats on Capitol Hill have dismissed the Republicans broadsides over Mamdani, and party leaders criticized the GOP-written measure ahead of Friday’s vote, saying it “selectively lists certain despotic leaders and the harms of totalitarian regimes self-labeled as ‘socialist.’” They did not, however, formally recommend a no vote. A swath of moderate Democrats, especially from New York, are uncomfortable with Mamdani’s rise in their party. The debate over the symbolic measure was derailed for about 10 minutes after Rep. Maria Salazar (R-Fla.) verbally attacked Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) on the floor, accusing her of being a “friend” of the late Cuban dictator Fidel Castro despite traveling to the country and seeing the abuses of his regime. Waters asked for Salazar’s words to be taken down, but Salazer instead withdrew her remarks, allowing the debate to continue.
