Simply put, I disagree. I think the level design peaks at Pinball Carnival Act 2, and the quickly devolves into the trappings that made the Advance games less satisfying than the actual Classics. Trip is cute, but her Story Mode is physically painful to play. Superstars’ presentation is also lacking

I kind of want to make a texture mod for Northstar in Crossworlds (out of pettiness), but I've no idea what direction to take it in

I'd do a Sonic R themed retexture, but I can't really figure out how I'd re-theme Speed Jungle in that scenario...

95% certain the vet they mention is kazuhiro mori, one of the ridge racer devs that left namco to do rally... was also trying to figure out who the protege is and i think it's this guy, as they also mention him being involved with sega race TV at yu suzuki's later team segaretro.org/Makoto_Shimo...

one tidbit:the entire Inital D arcade series' car control has been programmed by the same vet from the Sega Rally days, & their protege took the mantle for Sonic

the base driving's anchored on Rally; driftng was made wrt to Outrun, control feel wrt Sumo's games, all put through the Initial D filter

There's already a Honey the Cat mod for Crossworlds but... I hope we get one with a nicer model some day, I'm not gonna lie

Nibroc's 2020 take on Honey is pretty damn perfect, I appreciate it being closer to her Vipers/Fighters design than Archie
