It's actually a recreation of the Tamagotchi Plus Keitai Kaitsu Melon Soda from 2005, which is extremely popular among collectors. They go for ~$300. They made a special shell for the first wave of Japanese 2024 Connections because of its popularity, and then they brought it over to the West!
