When all the people were being baptized, Jesus was baptized too. And as he was praying, heaven was opened and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form like a dove.

The phrase "‘tis the season" comes from the Christmas carol, "Deck the Halls with Boughs of Holly."

The contraction "‘tis" for “it is” was overtaken by 'it’s' in modern speech and remains mostly only in the phrase “’tis the season.”

It’s the season to be jolly.

We have never pronounced the ‘b’ in ‘debt.’

‘Debt’ is derived through the Middle English word ‘dette' and from the Old French ‘dette’ or ‘dete.’

In the Middle Ages, scholars knew the word had its origin in the Latin word ‘debitum,’ so they retroactively added a ‘b.’
