Im missing the colour of the woodland right now. I don’t normally feel this way in the winter but for some reason this year’s different. I guess it’s the usual peaks and troughs of a photographer and inspiration will return soon I’m sure.

When visiting the Brecon Beacons, you can’t help but be in awe when standing alongside some of the most epic waterfall we have here in the UK, and even though I came away from my last trip with some photos I really like, it was this one that stuck in my mind as I drove home. 1/2

Looking back at a few photos I took one morning in London in September ‘23. Facing straight towards the rising sun while standing on London Bridge waiting for the optimum moment. That’s when this Clipper appeared from under the bridge. Perfect.

Flow. A few selected from a series I made while wandering along the river and photographing the cascades in Wales.

I just got around to watching Ellis Wood’s recent video showcasing the best of the UK landscape.

A fantastic video and worth a watch (even if not based here).

I’m still surprised why these guys don’t get more attention on your tube. A great mix of beers, banter and b… 🤷‍♂️ photos. Long form videos but so much great work gets shown and discussed.

Shopping is done, wine is poured.
Merry Christmas everyone.

Standing down the hill from this tree, I liked the way the tree was casting a silhouette in front of the brighter but cloudy sky and although it looks to be a standard black and white photo, this is in fact a colour photo. The light and conditions seems to have sucked the colour out of the image.

Looking back to late spring and a trip to the slate quarries in Wales.

I love how the colours work together with vivid spring greens and the grey slate walls, not to mention that stunning turquoise water.

I made a decision a while ago that I wanted to ensure my website/newsletter was where I prioritised sharing new work, only sharing to social media later. I release a quarterly “New Work” blog and here is the (slightly late) Summer 2024 post.

Woodland, cityscapes and a few from Cornwall.

From my recent trip to Korea. David Cobb and I photographed this waterfall in the Mureung Valley, but it reminded me of falls I saw in the eastern US last year. We started our hike late on a rainy afternoon, so we had the trail mostly to ourselves, rare in Korea.

I just love a photo book. I buy more than I read (I have a backlog) and Euan’s podcast and website is a huge inspiration. Thanks Euan for all the effort you put in.

Projects have become a huge part of what motivates me to pick up and head out with my camera. I have projects that include the natural and urban landscape.

Here are 4 photos from a project I call Timeless City. A black and white study of London.

I’m interested to see how well sharing content hosted outside Bluesky works.

Here’s a post I wrote about why I was drawn to using the square format for a project I’m working on.

Would love to hear your thoughts on this topic. Do you shoot square? Why?

Still a favourite photo of mine taken on late September morning at my local forest. With some subtle light falling on the tree, it momentarily appeared out from the misty landscape, just long enough for me to make the image.

I think early morning BlueSky posts are becoming a thing for me! Quite nice to come home from work and see if people have enjoyed it. This year I’ve pushed myself to become more creative, not just focusing on open and airy landscapes. This is titled ‘Down is the New Up’ #LandscapePhotography
