Automatics eliminated the human acrobatics, but not the interruption in acceleration. The torque curve is still non-linear and there's a hesitation when requesting torque.

It's a local optimum solution that was as good as they could get to the ideal of constant linear torque.

I never want to change manual gears again. Whoever invented the transmission never thought, "I'd like to interrupt acceleration with tricky coordinated action involving another foot and another hand." It was a necessary evil that EVs have eliminated. Now it is nostalgia.

It didn't suddenly stop working. It was a known flaw that it had a several minute reset period at certain times. If I was a conspiracy theorist, I might think someone could use that knowledge to hang Epstein during those known downtimes.

I wonder this, too.

It could be a crude way of thinking about the times Venezuela nationalized oil assets (1976, 2017), but US companies were offered compensation.

Or the word salad could be that he doesn't understand, or he's purposefully trying to obfuscate to hide the true motives.
