In honor of Filipino American History Month, I highly recommend reading, How to Stand Up to a Dictator by @mariaressa.bsky.social

Her fight against corruption and disinformation in the Philippines speaks directly to what we face in the U.S. today. A must-read on combating online misinformation.

Let’s break this down.

Saying you oppose ICE, but then vote yes to police Black and Brown students on campus, is a contradiction. You can’t claim to protect our communities while supporting systems that target them.

Congrats to @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social on a historic win against establishment democrats.

This is a huge generational win not only for NY but immigrants across the USA! ¡Felicidades amigo!

Don’t let anyone tell you that your history doesn’t matter.

Our history is not up for debate. We need leaders who will fiercely protect our truth, honor our community, and stand against those who try to rewrite it.

Should nonprofits with big corporate donors and individuals still tap into limited public school funds? I don’t think so.

This is respectability politics—suggesting that change only happens if we’re ‘polite’ enough to deserve it. It asks the unheard to soften their message, instead of asking those in power to listen.

This is tone policing—shifting focus from what’s being said to how it’s being said. It’s a way to dismiss valid points by demanding a ‘better’ delivery. But passion isn’t aggression, and frustration isn’t disrespect.

Monterey County Supervisor Glenn Church must prioritize Pajaro Middle School repairs. Denying funds to rebuild after floods not only deepens the physical damage but disregards the emotional toll on displaced students and families. Our school deserves action, not neglect. #pvusd #monterey

We defeated an incumbent Republican, challenged establishment Democratic Supervisors in both counties, took on the Santa Cruz media machine, and stood up for our history in schools. To anyone who doubted us, here’s proof: Green candidates can win—and we’re just getting started!
