This is respectability politics—suggesting that change only happens if we’re ‘polite’ enough to deserve it. It asks the unheard to soften their message, instead of asking those in power to listen.

This is tone policing—shifting focus from what’s being said to how it’s being said. It’s a way to dismiss valid points by demanding a ‘better’ delivery. But passion isn’t aggression, and frustration isn’t disrespect.
