Something I ponder at times is whether the path to success in human society isn't truly about being the absolute best version of yourself, but actually being the relatively best version of yourself which others will tolerate 🤔

I think I'm having an identity crisis bc I grew up being told terrible things happened to perverts (like being kinky or queer was nearly as condemned as committing SA, basically) then I realized that wasn't true & became a pervert, but now it IS feeling like trans women could become treated that way

I wonder if a semi-intelligence, like a system with some sense of real reasoning and repository knowledge but not any real self awareness or embodiment, would quickly displace LLMs from most applications, just by virtue of providing better results... though I'm not sure I think such a thing possible

If you tell a child over and over "seeing/hearing xyz is bad for you" (eg rock & roll, people in bikinis), and you accompany it with psychological threat (eg satan's influence and eternal damnation), it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy, because harmless exposure *can* inflict emotional distress

growing up, to cope with being transfeminine in an environment where that was punished, I created male headmates, but they were kind of soulless, and once I got old enough to realize the harms of patriarchy, I didn't want them so they "killed" themselves and are now kind of like ghost-headmates?

I'd really like help figuring out my low energy problems. My best guess as to what to try next is to cease supplements that mildly help, in hopes that my brain will magically reset itself if I let my neurochemistry do as it pleases (but this could also make me incredibly depressed so I'm reluctant)

I am not the biggest fan of executing human beings, because I believe that even people who have done fucked up things still often have the capacity to contribute to society even if you have to limit their autonomy for the safety of others
But I think I'd make an exception for wicked politicians

One thing that bugs me about dentist appointments is that they have to kinda retract my gums to clean around the very base of my teeth, which get more plaque because of past gum damage & recession, except it seems like my gums are trying to regrow now yet keep getting pushed back with dental work

Weird to me how management types joke that the amount of work expands so as to take up as much time and manpower as you allocate to it. That just feels like you can't motivate your workers, maybe because you're bad at helping people understand the value of their contributions or rewarding them...

Dear science. Why are there glowing pale specks in my sink when my eyes dark adapt. What is causing this. Discarded phosphorescent pigment from previous owners maybe? (if it'd last through years of scrubbing ceramic?) or something biological? which probably needs disinfected right?

I believe in social policies which try to maximize people's options, geared towards minimizing harm (eg I'd rather see autonomy like someone who robbed a store while armed getting a second chance at life than autonomy like being able to easily exploit others and amass billions)

Music service subscriptions kind of make sense to me in a way. I want to buy music I care about but I'm also willing to throw a few bucks a month at the ability to pull up random music to check it out. But so many of the services just... suck. They often aren't worth the cost right?
