Disappointing email from Ripple Energy to say they have ceased to trade and are calling in administrators.

A typical European car spends 1/5th of its driving time looking for parking. Its 5 seats only move 1.5 people, and it’s been getting bigger & heavier. 86% of its fuel never reaches the wheels, and most of the energy that does is needed to move the car itself, not the people in it.

Sound efficient?

Switching just 1 trip a day from 🚗 to 🚴 or 🚶‍♂️ = almost 30% less transport CO2 for the ave UK urban resident. If 1 in 5 did this in 🇪🇺 it’d cut emissions from all 🚗 travel in 🇪🇺 by 8%. The potential impact of active travel on CO2 could be huge

I’m happy when I’m cycling!

I just love Autumn. The way the trees change colours and the sound of the crunching leaves on the ground.

A v poignant memorial of 59 ghost bikes, one for each cyclist killed on New Zealand roads in the past 5 years.

To do this in Great Britain we would need 530 bikes 😢
World Remembrance Day for victims of traffic violence: 59 ghost bikes for 59 New Zealand cyclists dead on our roads in the past 5 years. Slower speeds would most certainly have made a difference. 🚲
