Hello friends!

Does anyone know a web designer experienced with the Ghost platform?

We'd explain more but it's top secret! 🤐

I enjoyed reading this piece. I've ended up playing through this game a few different times, mostly provoked by writing and major updates and asks to do so, and each time I've gotten something different and weirder from it.

This is a fucking excellent review of reviews that takes roundabout aim at the by now exhausted and exhausting surface level didacticism of our criticism.

Great article. One of the persistently funny things about the release of this game is how clearly so many reviewers had marinated in online discourse based on a largely imagined version of the genre. Of course the rough launch didn't do much to help it lol

I think this might be one of the most clear-eyed articles about Cyberpunk 2077 I've read. Actually looking at the game's themes, rather than getting caught up on a thought-terminating cliche and single word in the title.

Pretty good summary of the frustration I felt with early reviews of the game and whether it was "punk" when cyberpunk as a genre never was, not in the way people talked about it anyway. For better and worse it's a piece of art driven by the genre's exhausted cynicism

If you follow me you know how annoyed (too soft a word) I get with the superficial and misplaced criticism that Cyberpunk (big C but also little c) isn't "punk" enough. This essay goes at that criticism as well as I've seen it.

Good essay that digs into many of the reasons I was attracted to this game and jumped at the chance to work on the sequel

This cyberpunk 2077 essay pairs nicely with the @gaycannibalism.bsky.social one about dread delusion.

One game is a ridiculous power fantasy that ultimately says nothing and the other limits player power (and other mechanics) to make a narrative point!

"Longing for simplicity leads to the pernicious belief that dystopian narratives in games must be a power fantasy where authority is dismantled."

Great stuff here on how punk and its cyber-extrapolation has become stripped of nuance, and how we can get it back.

I had never heard of this show before meeting my partner. After looking into it, it was such a marked departure from what children are exposed to today. This is a great essay showing what we've lost and what we should model rebuilt children's programming on in the age of AI slop.

This essay was fantastic and the film absolutely blew me away with how adept it is at tackling modern loneliness despite being from 1998.

Hideaki Anno is best known for Neon Genesis Evangelion, but it's his less-heralded 1998 live action feature length debut Love & Pop that's his most eerily prescient work -- especially where loneliness is concerned -- argues Timothy Lee

1. I think I am most proud of Typebar when we do great analysis of a medium (gaming in this case) that a lot of mainstream culture/art places ignore.

2. I love how unique handles lead me to saying "hey everyone, Gay Cannibalism has a point!!"

This is an incredibly tonal essay that's one of my favorites we've published on a line level. Great work!
