If you don't see the difference between users shaping *their own* feeds and the ability for an OP to block *others* from being able to see dissenting opinions under their posts, I don't know how to help you.

That's useful enough in this case, but it's another example of how this site is designed to be an echo chamber generator, which is sort of inherently at odds with being an interesting place for users who don't just want a priors-confirming circlejerk.
