there's a ferry that runs from bridgeport to port jefferson. it's nice enough and port jeff is quaint. the biggest issue is realizing you eventually need to go back to bridgeport.

the city of montreal is mostly on the island of montreal. it has a higher population than the island of manhattan, although montreal dwarfs manhattan in land area. surprisingly, montreal has a much higher rat-to-person ratio than manhattan due to rat poison bans. manhattan probably smells worse.

sometimes the bay of fundy has a lot of water, and sometimes it has a small amount of water. we (me and the opossums eating bugs outside my front door) generally agree that the moon is the governing body in deciding to add or remove water in the bay.

fun fact: mount washington is a very prominent summit in new hampshire, but also an unremarkable summit in everett, a suburb of boston. additionally, the massachusetts town of mount washington does not have a summit called mount washington, but it does have a summit called mount everett.

half of maine is just unorganized territories that have no local government. some used to be towns, but they eventually disbanded due to dwindling population. there's only around 9,000 people living in these areas, but probably over 50,000 moose.

a photo of the northern colden slide in the adirondacks. this is the final push of the trap dike scramble, which was first ascended in 1850. a few sections are considered class four due to exposure. the slab itself was cleared out during numerous storms, most recently hurricane irene in 2011.
