The right sets the terms of our political discourse in so many ways, one of which is the idea that there isn't enough "debate" and "free speech" on campus.

We need to push back on this. The truth is (speaking for myself as a history prof), I don't really emphasize debate much in my classes/

We expected 2,000 people out in GOP-held Greeley, Colorado.

11,000 people showed up.

Something special is happening, folks. Now is the time to organize in every dimension possible and get to work.

Whatever strategy Democrats choose, they need to understand that the fight they’re in is different from any fight they’ve experienced in the past. Here's how they can approach the looming funding fight.

Imagine DOGE opens your mail and finds your household electric bill. To eliminate this cost, they burn your house down without warning. Then they total up the bills that, as a homeless person, you will never again pay. On its website, DOGE boasts about the money it has saved you.

You might not see it in the mainstream media, but over 10,000 people protested today at Tesla showrooms across the country, another 10,000+ rallied in support of national parks, and more than 1,000 gathered in Vermont to protest Vance’s visit.

I'm genuinely disheartened by the lack of reviews/coverage for "Eyes on the Prize III," which premieres on HBO tonight.

Sigh. This is, I guess, a "me" problem. But nothing you could watch this week is better.

Anyway... ICYMI, my review:

The Million Man March, the birth of Black Lives Matter, urban renewal projects in the Bronx and the aftermath of the Los Angeles Uprising get spotlights in the six-parter.

"What’s happening at DOGE is certainly technocratic. It feels, in a way, like a corporate takeover. But that doesn’t make it “competent.” It’s the opposite of genteel. And yet, the governor feels obliged to grin and take it. He’s not the one being fired."

Today’s news—Trump White House taking control of which journalists can cover the leader, a big step toward a Kremlin like press pool of handpicked media.
Just as jarring as Trump's pro-Russia foreign policy pivot has been his embrace of Putin-like tactics at home, unfolding with a speed and ferocity far different than what Trump was able to pull off in his first term. Call it the Putinization of America. www.newyorker.com/news/letter-...
