i think it's a mix of party finances being awful + a longer campaign provides more time for leaders to fundraise, get name recognition, rebuild the party base - none of these things happen over night

the ndp needs to get its own house in order, a longer election time means no kingmaker mulcair shit

someone on p&p suggested that more likely than anyone voting for it, some backbenchers will likely not be in attendance (unclear which party might do this, but i could see the bloc or cpc, possibly the ndp), giving the LPC an effective majority to pass the budget

I see a lot of people saying that a person charged with a crime deserves the chance to prove their innocence.

Please stop doing this because you have it backwards and this is really important.

It is ALWAYS the government's burden to prove a person guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

Ever since his family's food rations stopped arriving at their internment camp in Myanmar in April, the father had watched helplessly as his once-vibrant baby boy weakened, suffering from diarrhea and begging for food.
On May 21, exactly two weeks after Taher's little boy died, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio sat before Congress and declared: "No one has died" because of his government's decision to gut its foreign aid program. Rubio also insisted: "No children are dying on my watch."
That, Taher says, "is a lie."

with the ongoing CP strike, users that could buy their needles online won't be able to - a lot of trans healthcare uses needle exchanges for HRT provision, so they'll also be impacted by shortages

literally anyone who requires needles for medical purposes primarily get them thru syringe exchanges
