People will yell at me, and I LOVE Lace, but it really should have been Dagna who gets "dwarven magic". Her whole story arc seemed to be leading up to that and being a former Orzammar resident makes it more appealing to me. Can you imagine her "Return to Orzammar" tale.. Bringing home the magic.
