🚨 BREAKING | Response to Downing Street on #Birmingham bins

It is not surprising that many workers in Britian question the Labour government’s commitment to working people, when it issues a statement clearly blaming bin workers in a dispute not of their making. 🧵1️⃣👇

Thank you to everyone who came out in support of sacked Unite Hospitality activist Anne Marie over the weekend.

Supporters from across the region came together to tell Premier Inn that union busting is disgusting!

If the final assembly of the Typhoon does not happen in Britain, it will be an act of self-harm.

The UK Government and John Healey MP need to stop the dithering and delay, get the order in for the British Typhoon's and back British manufacturing. #BackBritain #Defence

This is a cruel increase which is going to hit the elderly and low paid workers the hardest.

How can this be acceptable when energy companies are making billions in profits and millions of people are struggling to keep warm? 1/2 ⤵️

If action is not taken in #Grangemouth, the Labour govt, these Labour politicians, are on the verge of colluding in one of Scotland’s historic acts of industrial vandalism. It’s time for Labour to decide whose side they are on. ⤵️

Donald Trumps’s steel tariff threat should be a wake-up call for this government. I have long been calling for the steel industry to be classified as critical national infrastructure – just as it is in the US. 1/3

❤️ As we kick off #HeartUnions week , who better to promote the value of being part of a trade union, than our Retired Members Committee.

These members are lifelong trade unionists who stay in their union beyond retirement from the workplace, to fight for their rights as one.

A Unite survey shows that pensioners are suffering real-life effects of the needless cut to winter fuel. They're shivering at home, having to go without bathing or without meals.

Instead of picking the pocket of pensioners, the govt should be looking at a wealth tax on the very richest in society.

🚨 Solidarity with @unitetheunion.bsky.social Bakkavor workers in Spalding!

They feed the nation but are paid just 10p above minimum wage.

💷 Bakkavor made £94M profit last year—workers demand only an 81p/hr rise (just 2% of profits).

✊ End poverty pay now!
🚨 Bakkavor workers vote for further strike action

If Bakkavor thought our members would go back to work with their tails between their legs they have another thing coming. Our members have voted for further strike action & they have @unitetheunion.bsky.social's full backing.

If Princes thinks its threats will weaken workers’ resolve it has another thing coming. This is appalling behaviour from a shameful company. First it pulled the rug from under our members by reneging on a pay deal and now it is threatening their jobs with these union-busting tactics. ➡️ rb.gy/0fx2z7
