Potato Head
I get the impression that Vinai thinks that sticking, and fully committing, to a plan by the smart people under him is how success is born. He's just never actually had to deal with the fact that the people under him are not that smart and the plan is bad.

I think it is pretty clear that Tottenham's decision making at a strategic football level has been poor for a while, but it has really been highlighted in 2025. Basically every major decision was either a) objectively wrong/poor, or b) made via a poor process. Just in the past 12 months (thread):

It is true that Spurs need time and investment in a consistent good strategy to fix the long running recruitment and identity problems. Frank has also turned out several of Spurs all-time worst performances and Lange keeps recruiting tools guys in hopium they get better. Neither are showing good.
🚨🛑 Thomas Frank on Tottenham job: “If no one gets the time, no one can turn this around. This is NOT a quick fix”.

I don’t see the point in being patient with this process.

So from what I'm gathering
1) Spurs board disagreed with Ange and felt he should have prioritized 1% odds of CL qualification chance in PL over the ~25% chance at EL win.
2) They held this belief even as the proof he was right was grew more and more.
3) They may not fire him because of that belief.

I have set up a JustGiving page to raise money for the brilliant midwives and nurses who cared for my wife during her miscarriage.

Anything you can give - however small - would be so immensely appreciated. If you can't, just a share would mean a lot. #COYS

Fundamentally what the club is asking of these players is unacceptable. It doesn't matter how much they make the body can only take so much.

And why? Because Ange is picky? Lange's scouting isn't good enough? The board doesn't think Jan is good market value or their previous wage structure? Rubbish
Very good, mood capturing piece here from Seb
From Hoffenheim and a night that many Tottenham players can look back on with pride.

But this cannot go on.
