They could create a 'Spot The Gollum' competition at each showing. I've mocked up an example we can use to sell the concept to them.

And while it is lovely it’s no replacement for this wonderful thing, which will be packed away for future generations to wonder, and perhaps (perversely) worship like some sort of weird Russell Hoban-esque novel.

Got a lunar calendar from @constantfollower.bsky.social and it’s a beaut!

Change of pace on the listening now. Love this album and while this is a 2021 reissue it’s beautifully presented. Grabbed this from @lookingforthemagic.bsky.social yesterday, where I also bumped into @andrewmale.bsky.social who was as awesome IRL as he is on here.

I’m a bit more peeved that the store imagery shows the vinyl with an effect but the actual colourway is basically coke bottle green. Labels should describe the colour as it is. Black is black, not ‘Gloom on Hallowe’en’ or ‘Midnight Mid-January in Scarborough’.

My postman is ace. Today he is extra ace for bringing me this.

One of the records I picked up yesterday. Indie/post punk from Iceland. Released in 2017. Never seen it on vinyl before. Worth the £8 I paid.

Rubbish snowman
A shrub has been covered with a white material and tied a third of the way down from the top, such that it looks like two stacks of snow atop one another. It’s in a garden covered in grey slate pieces and weeds.

Been waiting on these all week! Finally came. They are very shiny.

When I started this label I decided that represses wouldn’t happen. So all stampers are recycled. But I wanted to buy myself something for the archive. So I did.
A paper envelope that contains a nickel plated stamper of the first Unspun Heroes pressing, James Varda’s Chance And Time. A shiny stamper.

A copy of the zine In The April Sun with a pair of jam tarts in a plastic holder thing, and a cup of tea in a Franz Ferdinand mug. That’s the band, not the assassinated Archduke.

Came back from a dog walk to a very lovely postal delivery. Includes not one but two pieces about The Felt Tips. Neither by me, I might add.

A quote from author Tom Cox, which given how poorly he and other authors have been treated by Unbound may boil his piss. I’m watching Merchants of Joy. The chap called George looks like he’s been created by a prompt, or maybe was a cartoon character made flesh. Oh, no, he’s the Nick Park Creature Comforts tortoise who says easily turn off and on-able!
Jane and George, who star in the documentary about NYC Christmas tree sellers. George looks like he’s created with ai. Or perhaps Nick Park - he is the tortoise from the adverts. The tortoise from Aardman’s Creature Comforts advert (1989) who George from Merchants of Joy reminds me of.

Just got home and playing today’s chazza finds. £3.50 for the two.

Small haul today from Brighton.
A 12-inch vinyl record by South, a north London band from 2000 signed to Mowax. This was one of their singles from the debut album. It says PAINT THE SILENCE at the top, which is the song’s title. The band name is to the lower right. There is an image of a head and shoulders that is reminiscent of a dot-to-dot picture. The background is a dark petrol blue colour. A vinyl record called White Trails by Chris Rainbow. It features a person lying back on sand dunes. They are wearing long denim shorts and a white shirt with red waistcoat. Their left arm is flung across their eyes as if protecting them from the glare of the sun. The sky in the image is blue with a single light streak running diagonally right to left. The cover of Rabbit Songs by HEM, which is the 2025 reissue of this album which came out in 2000. There is an illustration of a rabbit on the left side. The track list is written out with the band’s name in large green type, while the album’s title is written in black script below it. The cover of Echolalia’s album. It features a plate with food on it. There are potatoes, peas and a piece of pink meat that looks like ham. Written across the ham in what could be maple syrup is the band’s name.

More recently, the lovely Sean, known as @heykidsshop.bsky.social, created a cut out and make rose sculpture for the release of Living & Growing by The Felt Tips. Again, I’m sold out but if you ask your local indie record store to order it from SRD you’ll find one tucked inside. It’s awesome.
