@octopus.energy "Intelligent Octopus Go customers will continue to receive 6 hours of off-peak electricity for your whole home between 11:30pm and 5:30am... Plus up to 6 hours of super-cheap smart charging every 24 hours." 6 *plus* 6 equals 12, not 6, which appears to be what is being offered...

During the 19thC there was a fascination in Britain for Egypt. When a terrace in Richmond Avenue at Islington was constructed in 1841, pairs of obelisks and sphynxes were added to guard the entrance to each house.

London Bridge is one of only 2 bridges (the other being Blackfriars) where the City of London boundary crosses right across onto land on the south side of the River Thames, evidenced by the City dragons which mark the historic walled boundary around the Roman city.

A circle I can’t square: on one hand newspapers outraged about how much train drivers earn; on the other, Thameslink cancelling lots of trains for lack of drivers.
Maybe booking on or off in the middle of the night for early and late shifts not that attractive whatever the pay.

I couldn't resist taking some photos of the tube map on the window outside the Map House.

They currently have a new exhibition "Mapping the Tube: 1863-2023", it's definitely worth a visit.

It's open from the 25th October to 30th November 2024.
