Here's the garbage pile across the street that split off from the pile on the other side of the street. The outdoor angels covered it because it was a blight to their camp. #ilovela #ready4theolympics @lacity.bsky.social

A week after the holidays wrapped up, the Los Angeles Street garbage pile is diminished but still alive. Amoeba-like, it's split and the rest of it is across the street. #olympicsready #ilovela #CleanSidewalksAreSafeSidewalks #wheelchairaccessibility @lacity.bsky.social

Still no movement on the Los Angeles Street garbage pile. With rain for the next week, it will probably make a giant puddle. #ILoveLAWhyDoesntTheCity #ready4theolympics #dtla #starting2026right @lacity.bsky.social

Ms Harris's hot take is fine, but she doesn't know much about New Mexico. She thinks the dying small town next to the Pueblo is predominantly white. Part of the social critique is that NM is majority Hispanic as likely are most of the characters.
The problem(s) with Ari Aster's 'Eddington'
This high-anxiety pandemic Western wants to impress you by reproducing the chaos, disinformation, and combativeness of 2020 — but it's less satire than a star-filled documentary reenactment.

Good news: South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone have made MAJOR progress in settlement talks with Paramount/Skydance. Looking like an extension of the existing overall deal with the guys, which will facilitate new streaming license. Final terms still TBD.

Holy crap!
This transcript of the Trump-Epstein birthday card definitely seems worse than the tagline that's getting quoted so often.

@roblox.com Oh my. You have the most horrible, heinous, and diabolical anti-robot verification I have ever encountered. I am a hair's breadth from banning my daughter from ever having anything to do with Roblox ever again because you will not let us login without multiple rounds of verification.

Greg predicted a lot of this in his Smartest Man podcast. I believed him then, but I am not sure he believed himself.

The Supreme Court and Congress cede powers to Trump and the presidency
The high court has given the president immunity and protected him from nationwide injunctions. Congress is giving ground on spending and tariffs. It adds up to a turbocharged executive.

I mean, that's just regulations. We need to gut the for businesses since they have staff to fill out the forms. Since poor people don't have personal assistants to fill things out, then they can get all the paperwork.
CNN: Once you review the bill, can you guarantee your constituents that they will not lose their health coverage?

REP. GREG MURPHY: That's the intent. Somebody came up the other day about paperwork. Well that's part of being an adult. You have to do paperwork.

Just a reminder to everyone screaming at Democrats right now:

1) The GOP can literally pass most things without a single Democratic vote, and

2) It would only take four Republicans to split from Trump and vote against things to stop all this crap.

Maybe start pressuring REPUBLICANS instead?
