Ok #holiday is over, back to reality. This was the first year I did the 11 person family feast;. buttermilk brined/herb roasted turkey, gratin dauphinois, haricourt verde amondine, chestnut stuffing, & a pecan/radicchio salad. Baked brie and my original cocktail; the French 89, as aperitifs. #foodie

For Christmas I fixed up and digitized some of my grandma's old slides but some were too damaged to be worthwhile, so instead I tried using them as reference photos and recreated them, filling in gaps from memory, by painting them by hand. This one is for sure the best. #artsky #painting #portraits

It has been a magical experience watching this lil lady get domesticated and what a wild ride to be the human she is most comfortable with, but I think it's possible this street cat doesn't believe in baths or personal space.

I love my bedside shrimp tanks and i love waking up gasping and sweating from the night terrors and having two emotional support kitties and breaking up a little algae on the side of the tank to summon some little shrimpies and i can watch them graze in dim light until i fall back asleep.

Not to be insensitive to "I almost drowned as a child and am uncomfortable in water" but that's a consideration to make before reaching out to the underwater photographer for opportunities to assist.

Soliciting thoughts on how to seek out a coconut crab while travelling in the Philipines. Not for catching, killing or eating, but photographing, admiring, and potentially loving because who doesn't love a weird little guy??

Not every underwater wildlife expedition is a success, especially when you're trying to tread as gently and ethically as possible as an ocean visitor. Oh well! I did, however, meet a most beautiful winged moon worshipper who asked if I had accepted the lunar saviour into my heart.

What a day! started a journey to photograph some sea lions and whale sharks (here's hoping) and found out this lil ray got second place in a juried exhibition and is going to be printed by the #decagon gallery. Seems auspicious! Go give it a click!

What a day! started a journey to photograph some sea lions and whale sharks (here's hoping) and found out this lil ray got second place in a juried exhibition and is going to be printed by the #decagon gallery. Seems auspicious! Go give it a click!

At the start of every damn dive year I inevitably lose the mostly full tube of silicon lube and have to emergency get another one right before departing. Underwater photographers get it.

Ok another hot take- I also do this deliberately, including to work subordinates and opposing counsels. I know it makes your anxiety fester, that's the whole point. If it isn't about a fuck up, I'll say so right away. When I just say "we need to talk," yeah you should be pretty freaked out.
Speaking of anxiety -- Do not vaguely tell someone you need to talk to them without disclosing the seriousness of the discussion. If it's not serious, a person with anxiety will have already spun a handful of scenarios.
