Increase in productivity since 1979: 87%

Increase in hourly pay since 1979: 32%

Just so happens that ~25% of workers were unionized in 1979. Today? 10%.

As unions declined, the super-rich have taken a larger share of wealth generated by labor. We must build back union power.

This Russian sabotage campaign really is amping up, isn't it?
The IISS has produced a comprehensive open-source database currently available on Russian sabotage operations across Europe and its periphery. It captures the full spectrum of activity with physical effects: from sabotage on undersea cables to GPS blocking across multiple domains and geographies

Just 10 days after this photograph was taken, Faris was fatally shot in the neck while he stood confronting an Israeli tank in Gaza with a stone. He was 14.

As we near the end of the year, Palestinians, in the darkest hour of their colonial struggle, need the world’s attention more than ever.

I wrote this a year ago and it hit a nerve. It is still relevant today:

Each time I have sat down to write something I am bothered by this recurring phrase that I cannot get out of my head. So, this week I am going to just say it out loud: we are on our own. www.democracydocket.com/opinion/we-a...

So much is about to change. The financial markets are shifting to crypto utilization and an over collateralized system (sounds good in theory but is much more complicated); AI is slowly infiltrating white collar jobs, Robotics are slowly infiltrating blue collar jobs.

None of this will stop.

Theres a foolish impulse by legacy media that if & when they cover most stories, it’s simply time to move on. Trump’s ceaseless corruption, criminality, cognitive decline & compulsive, narcissistic hatred gets glossed over in the process. I for one won’t move on until he’s gone & held accountable.
How are these fits of presidential incontinence never covered as their own news events in NYT? Hours of sick hateful bile from the curdled joyless leader of the Christian nationalists sitting in the ruins of the tinsel trimmed White House he’s demolishing — seems like a story to me.

So the school privatizers issue a “report” that says we need more school privatization (charters, etc), and it gets reported like they have no dog in the fight? Fascinating.

Is @RepMarkWhiteTN still on their “Board of Advisors”?🤔

Economic data is a noisy group chat: jobs, GDP, income, prices all talking at once. Each message can mislead if you take it literally. The real task is finding the common story they’re telling together, not falling in love with one statistic.
