After three exciting days filled with numerous inputs and discussions, the question arose: What can historians do to combat the shift to the right and historical revisionism? We discussed this with Jakob Schergaut (@stattmythen.bsky.social), Michał Bilewicz (Warsaw), and Branimir Đurović (Belgrade).

The three presented their work at the intersection of science and practice in Poland, Serbia, and Germany. The second panel broadened the view and included global perspective with presentations by Sirupa Roy (Göttingen), Richard Steigmann-Gall (Kent State), and David Malitz (@dijtokyo.org), who where discussing memory politics in MAGA-USA, India and Japan.

We had to insightful panels yesterday on our first conference day. First, Paula Diehl (Kiel), Gideon Botsch (Potsdam), Walderez Ramalho (Santa Catarina), Berver Bervanage, and Marie-Gabrielle Verbergt (both Genth) discussed different approaches of analyzing memory politics in right-wing populism.
