my sister was destabilized and needed to go to the ER vi- ambulance. They sent her back to Sutter who won’t even let her be Seen anymore. They want her “hospice” to be just die right now out of sight on the streets and I never was able to even fundraise enough to get her into any care facility.

This is why I use Amazon wishlists for mutual aid to get things I need (and sometimes want) instead of asking for direct money that risks taking everything away that keeps me alive.

My mom the other night was like “ugh, Anna, you need to start putting something away” and I couldn’t stop myself from bursting out laughing. No matter how good an interest rate you get, if you multiply it by zero, it’s always gonna be zero. Blame that one on Uncle Sam.

I am trying really goddamn hard to get my life back on track, between the long COVID, the enforced poverty (asset limits are a damn crime), a series of shitty humans with boundary issues and just enough knowledge of where the line is to avoid crossing it publicly. I finally have a pretty solid shot.

One of the biggest impacts I’ve seen from the unproven idea that people are wrongfully using disability accommodations is that people stop trusting people with disabilities and in fact further restrict, remove, and demonize accommodations for people with disabilities in general

Tired of takes shaming poor, marginalized & disabled folks using Amazon- often the only affordable option, when 1/3rd of the damn internet uses AWS.

Why its always ok for certain folks to use a thing bc theres no alt, but struggling folk are supposed to go without or be bullied as selfish assholes?

“Just cut people off if they’re bigots” is nearly impossible for disabled people. We may have bigoted caregivers, but we have to take that or we get no care at all. So be mindful of that when a disabled person complains about a bigoted caregiver.

No, they can’t just fire them.

I’m gonna be outright honest. Im someone that needs a mobility aid. I need something that I can use to support my back when I walk. There’s a singular problem. There are no mobility aids designed for people who also have bad shoulders either. Because apparently mobility staves aren’t a thing.
