This is so difficult. I was raised to minimize my accomplishments. My automatic reaction to compliments is "I try."

6yo has started calling me out on that. "Stop saying that, you DID it, that's more than just trying." The kids are so good for me.

Anybody who is like “Piracy is activism!”—trust me, supporting your local library is about 1000% more effective activism, and it’s still free for you and authors still get paid!

There are so many butts to touch on that page, too!

Something that changed my life: freezing homemade cookie dough.

I can make a double batch of dough, bake a sheet, freeze the rest in sheet-sized roles, and have fresh baked cookies on demand.

She knows what she wants out of life.

Other people's opinions about her dreams only matter if they try to stop her, and only until she finds an acceptable method to work through that roadblock.

They have shared values but are very different otherwise.

Shane is happy about that. He's a product of war and he knows it. Jake is his hope for the future, and breaking cycles.

They're both have an eye for detail. Jake's for contracts and enchanting, Shane's for military strategy and astrophysics

Ooh, they have traditional books, too?

I am going to have to start a book budget. 😂 And an incentive program, for doing chores.

I think I resolved that issue early by checking out Tale of Two Cities from the school library and then talking to our librarian about it as I read. 😂

It hadn't been checked out for decades, and was still on the card catalog system rather than the electronic one as a result.

Oh no!
I completely understand. I am grateful that Peaches' obsession is my glasses rather than electrical wires.

Awesome! I'm glad to know it has your stamp of approval, as I have never heard of them before.

I suppose we have a trip to the local indie bookstore on the way, as this is book 8.

They also want the rest of the Dragon Girls series, since there's been another 8 or something released this year.

Mr. E is a riot.
I can't wait to meet him in person!

Hardcover or softcover are my preference, but I have no space for them right now so I'm with you on the ebooks.

Also audiobooks, I still prefer actually reading the words sometimes in this busy life audiobooks are just easier so I can multi-task. Can't read a hardcover while also folding laundry.
