It was difficult to decide, but these always feel special. I purposely left off insects because I love them too much to choose just five.

*I think it was a pilot whale but this was when I was 13 so I don’t remember exactly. It was an incredible moment, whatever kind of whale it was!

The most frustrating thing about not finishing this chapter yet is I keep forgetting how these characters are positioned in relation to each other, since they keep moving. So I have to refresh my memory each time to keep my blocking consistent.

Crafting this morning: backup emergency foot bandages for Peaches.
She supervised of course. Which means she's getting used to this since typically she hides under the bed when the supplies come out.
I put her in a full wraparound bandage for the week, but it's good to have emergency spares.

Our @merriam-webster.com dictionary arrived today, and I am teaching the kids how to use it.
6yo picked LASSO as her first word.
8yo chose CAT, and had so much fun she's now looking up BUTT.
I did have to remind her B comes after A, but she's got the hang of it now.

I will read almost anything tbh.
Straight contemporary romance hit too close to past traumas.
I used to avoid horror because I get squeamish around blood, but have now realized my aphantasia means I don't visualize books. Except occasionally T. Kingfisher descriptions, she's too good at them. 😂

Driving out for emergency birthday sushi because the power company texted me that they're shutting off our power right now.
(They did give us a half hour notice, but I was driving when they sent it, and it takes time to get kids in the car.)
