Hello! I'm Amy, a patient care technician and indie dev currently working on the fan game "Freedom Planet Academy"!

All posts and opinions are my own.

I remember years ago, marveling at a demo for Zera: Myths Awaken (A Spyro fan game reworked into an original project) that had a custom shader to emulate this effect. It looked so authentic.

It's still one of the exceedingly few shaders I appreciate. More indie games should have it as an option! 💙

I will become the nightmare before christmas instead *bricked*

I'm not exactly someone who thinks PS1 texture warping somehow improves the experience of retro gaming per se but I do think being the kind of person who makes a big deal out of it marks one out as, diplomatically, "not the target audience" and undiplomatically as "irritatingly fussy"

Whereas with consoles, I can't imagine any way to compile extensions for them. That's spooky dev territory!

I've learned if devs want to make a GM game PC-only, or PC-first with potential console ports, we must decide if it needs an extension from the start. (Why my next game won't use any!)

Late reply, I agree. The one game I use an extension is YAL's sandbox killer, and he always uploads his source code. 💙

This allowed a friend (Leo) to find a rare buffer issue that crashed the game often. He then wrote his own extension.

Source is king; keeps you safe from unfixable unforeseen bugs

It's more that forums are a better experience in the right hands. Trolls toe the line and get banned without action on your part. Teens have a moderator's grace to grow and learn. People share more candidly in their specializations and hobbies, etc.

Social media is so wild-west and never got better

The photo is likely my hand trying to take it from her, lol

I don't know why she wanted the phone. It doesn't taste good! Or maybe it does for electric sheep?

Eugh, I hate this too!

Last time, I waited for a *semi-truck* to finish passing before a turn. The Karen behind me in her big SUV was flailing her arms (WTF) and yelling at me, like I was stupid. When I did make a turn, she flew 100+ MPH in another lane.

Some people worry about the wrong things

Same. I'm also still using this Galaxy from 2021. (Pic from 2021!) I hate how much eWaste is produced by smartphones, I'm not buying another as long as it works. Camera and everything is great 💙

Fuck Apple's bottom line, what would I even do with a new phone? I have a Switch for games, lol

While there is a point where truthful criticism can be found between the barbs, if that feedback is buried under a dense layer of hyperbole- I have no problem telling myself I'm too busy to read.

If somebody sincerely wanted me to take their feedback to heart, they wouldn't address me like THAT

This was almost me with video games. I am still unhappy with how commercial games have largely rotted for the past decade, and it's getting worse. If not for indies, I would have quit gaming (aside occasionally pulling out consoles for nostalgia)

Crunchyroll is making me want to quit anime too 💔

If we're talking about results, they should be the same. But one advantage for the legs? You don't have to hold your breath during an injection, just keep those leg muscles relaxed, lol

I also get anxious about how far away I need to inject around the belly button, because it's a no-go zone

Still happy I got rid of it last year. While I didn't find everyone from Twitter on here, I don't care if I don't. People who choose to remain complicit with its perpetuation aren't worth my time.

I question why I'm even on social media lately, there's no sense of "community". I'm more into forums.

Some of my fan art of Blaze over the years! 💙 Thank you, Yuji Uekawa, your artwork for the character still inspires me; I'm happy to see it shared around again.

I never stopped daydreaming of her next adventure.

Late reply. Your post made me realize how dearly I missed MP3 players in my life

Retro MP3 players are cheap, (the iRock I had as a kid? Sealed and $30!) but the Mini is so cute, I got one too

No more opening the phone for music, see a distracting notification, then wondering why I opened my phone

Placing my bets on Lilac, lol

This is how to reduce headaches for multi-OS ports on PC, too. 💙

Most extensions and libs for Game Maker only work on Windows, and have less predictable results. 99% of a game's GML "just works" on Mac and Linux when it's vanilla.

A friend ported my project to Linux and nothing in-game broke, lol
