I remember the phrase "they can't be allowed to melt back into society" re: the de-Baathification of Iraq after the war there. Like everything about that experience, the attempt was cynical, stupid, and botched. But there really should be a plan about what we do with guys like these in the future.

The 1998 film Jack Frost is genuinely insane. The first 40 full minutes of the movie are about Michael Keaton being horny as hell for his hot wife and getting famous for his band's blues-rock cover of "Frosty the Snowman." The talking snowman doesn't even turn up until the halfway point.

Screaming, crying, throwing up as I realize that the very youngest person who voted in a Presidential election where Trump wasn't a candidate is now 31 years old.
I mean we now have people entering their 30s whose whole political lives have been defined by this man and his acts. It’s not a small generation and while he might have skated on COVID amnesia I think they’ve cooked that out of the body politic by now.
