Over the years I’ve been making @vhsrevue.bsky.social a few people have asked if I’ve ever found a home made sex tape hidden amongst someone’s VHS collection. Well, today for the first time I can say yes. Yes I have. #vhsrevue

2002 Pros: Affordable houses.
2002 Cons: Questionable cheese branding. #cantdothatanymore

Just seen the news the hilarious and brilliant Patricia Routledge has passed away. @timwray.bsky.social shared this bizarre anecdote in Ep 33 about the time he had dinner with her in Adelaide on 9/11. RIP

I remember yelling MEETING TABLES! quite a bit back then. That’s probably more like late 2001 or early 2002. They moved from Port Road to the corner of Marion and Richmond Roads around then

Are these hobbits because the suits are oversized? I'm going to guess this must've been the lord of the rings and Goodfellas crossover that Pete never made.

Bought a bunch of old magazines from a local vintage shop yesterday, including the August 1977 issue of Australian House & Garden.

Didn't expect to find a member of the @vhsrevue.bsky.social family in its pages, nor the realisation that we've been saying his name incorrectly.
The front cover of the August 1977 issue of Australian House & Garden. Inside you can learn how to change a room with colour, discover the new bedroom storage systems, and read about cedar: THE multi-purpose timber! A full-page colour advertisement for Modular Pools, featuring a bikini'd lady gazing longingly down the pool's filter basket hole, and a very 70s looking bipedal platypus.

By "very 70s" I mean "exceptionally hairy, with a gold chain around his neck." A close-up of the platypus. Turns out he's not wearing a gold chain, but rather an unusually placed medal on his chest. Still incredibly, deliciously hairy, though.

"I'm Moddy Modular - a platypus. And if you wonder why Modular Pools chose me as a symbol, just look at all the extras I have... as standard."

Found a new niche channel I like.

If you want to know what Australia culture was like for the youth, it was making Futurama and Simpsons references.

New season of Futurama is out tomorrow! Thankfully it’s a lot easier to find than it was in Australia back in 2002. Here’s a tedious anecdote: #futurama #vhsrevue
