From the recent Jetbrains survey:

"The survey’s gender distribution shows a striking lack of diversity, with the overwhelming majority of respondents identifying as male."

If you have the means to support Larabelles, I strongly urge you to do so: larabelles.com/support-us

Be biased towards shipping.

It's just too common of a story — took a long time to build the "perfect" thing, then people didn't want the thing after all. Months — years — wasted.

That said…

I also think there's a lot of knee-jerk advice of "just ship it."

Good points
haha. it's funny to me too!

When is technology going to help us in more ways than just making society more "productive."

My back aches!

"I will never, ever, ever, be good enough".

Constant exposure to brilliance from people significantly more competent than you can be a double edged sword where it's both a confidence killer and a knowledge and skill enhancer.

Great post. The thing is the coding knowledge you have and want to use ends up being a pretty small part of the the building a SaaS process. Which may be another angle to look at things from. bsky.app/profile/zuza...

This has been such a helpful framework for me:

stress = demands / resources

The breakthrough was realizing there are really only two ways to reduce stress:

1. Lower demands
2. Increase resources

One of my biggest mental breakthroughs was when I changed my mindset from

"This system is stupid and I'm going to spend all my energy fighting it."

to

"Even though this system is stupid, I'm going to operate within it to my advantage."

Much better results, way less stress.

So many scary things, that also can be fulfilling: startups, writing, marriage, kids.

To guarantee failure, don’t even try. Don’t start.

To guarantee failure, quit as soon as it becomes difficult.

Success isn’t guaranteed, but certain failure is in your control.
The only way to guarantee startup success
What is it like to reach the pinnacle of success? Is that where you attain happiness and fulfillment? Or are those found right here, right now.

A breakdown of the low-lift way that I tip my toe into a new advertising channel:

I recently tried advertising on LinkedIn for the first time.

Why? Because we know coaches (our market) are active on LinkedIn, and due to job title targeting it should be easy to target them.
