Yeah that's where you're just lost. It is entirely possible to say that you don't have sufficient information about something to form an opinion. The world would be a much better place if more people were willing to do that.

Everything being truly preordained would feel pretty out of place with how much emphasis One Piece has put on individual journeys and dreams. My personal hope is that someone tells Luffy that it was all destiny and he completely blows them off because he doesn't care about that stuff.

Yeah, I get that. My hope is that the ultimate idea becomes that Team Joyboy was less about pure destiny and more about certainty that someone with the same ideals (Luffy) would inevitably come around and they left the tools for that person to succeed.
