#Inventor Maria Beasley's genius was barrel machinery.
First barrel-hooping machine patent in 1881. Final design could hoop ~1700 barrels/day. Licensed to Standard Oil & others, she was generating $20K/year in royalties ($652K in 2024) by 1912. Her inventions didn't stop there... #WomenInSTEM (1/2)
