Speaking out against unchecked executive power that targets civic organizations without legislative oversight or due process. No one should have the authority to strip Texans of their rights, simply because they’re affiliated with groups he disagrees with.

Book recommendation: “Star Spangled Jesus” by April Ajoy. She grew up with a dad who was a Pastor in an evangelical church, but started asking questions. She discovered what Christian Nationalism is and writes about her discovery. Always question and keep learning!

Yesterday my team and I volunteered at the Central Texas Food Bank as our neighbors face uncertainty during the federal shutdown. When Washington fails to act, Texans step up for each other. No family should have to choose between paying bills and putting food on the table.

A movement starts w/a person having a dream. Rene started a movement with her animal sanctuary in Texas. She & Tommy went from cattle ranchers to vegan. Now they are spreading awareness about animal cruelty and the benefits of a plant based diet. Check it out @rowdygirlsanctuary.bsky.social

I stopped by the Wichita County courthouse a few days ago and learned about Charlye Ola Farris, the first African American woman to earn a law degree in Texas in 1953. They have a statue in front of the courthouse. Shhh… don’t tell Dan Patrick, he might think there’s DEI in Wichita county.

The Floresville Peanut Festival is quite a big deal! People from Helotes, La Vernia, Karnes and other nearby places came to celebrate and enjoy the parade and festivities! I enjoyed walking with the Wilson County Democrats. Thanks, Jennifer and crew!

So good to be w/the Wilco Dems tonight! People are concerned about Paxton investigating “leftist terror cells.” This is the same man who is trying to remove me from my elected position. His bark is worse than his bite. Nevertheless, we should all be vigilant and watch out for one another.
