If the 14th Amendment’s “equal protection clause” is not upheld for trans people, it could mark the start of its overall weakening for everyone.

This is what I have been most struck by, tbh.
Renee is so open, grounded. Regulated. She is fully in control of herself.
It's like: 1.) achieving that level of groundedness and holding it is my goal, and, and 2.) it's so wild how THAT'S what they hate most. Someone who is calm and unafraid.
