... politicians, including the premier, local MLA, transport minister, and Maple Ridge council, can't claim ignorance. Their inaction has now led to 6 pedestrian deaths on the same stretch of road in 3 years. Will we get another 2 lives lost in 2026? That's up to them. (5/5)

The only reply we got was from the Office of the Premier, informing us that the Minister of Transportation would reply to us "as soon as possible" - this was 4 months ago and we've not heard back since, despite following up.

In September, we emailed local politicians informing them of the dangers and recommending changes. Full email here (also see alt text).

We ended the email saying: "With fatalities happening at this frequency, it's only a matter of time before another innocent life is lost." That day came. (3/5)
